PRICE: £35

MY STORY: I am always on the look out for a holy grail face mask. Particularly one that uses acid exfoliants. They usually immediately give smoother brighter skin.

This mask does the same however I found it a bit of a faff to apply with a brush from the jar (give me a tube to squeeze any day). It also stings my face and makes me go red, more than other acid exfoliating masks that I’ve used, and my skin is quite used to strong acid exfoliation.

The experience for me was a little uncomfortable and the results were comparable to cheaper acid exfoliants, for those reasons I won’t be repurchasing this product.

The active ingredients should and do work but the jar container will lead to degradation of some of the plant based ingredients and the mask as a whole doesn’t deliver the overall experience and results that I’d like from a product of this price.

AIM: To exfoliate and resurface skin, with algae extract to sooth and calm. Increase cell turnover, brighten skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother, younger looking complexion.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:

AHAs – fruit acids, lactic acid + glycolic acid

DIRECTIONS: After cleansing, scoop out a teaspoon and smooth over face using brush. Leave for 10 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. Follow with usual skincare.

PROS:
3.5 pH to ensure AHAs function, effective AHA ingredients, good at removing flakey bits of skin

CONS:
Pricey, jar container leading to contamination and degradation of some ingredients. Messy to use. Irritant to some skin.

Rating: 3.5/5
